Ghost Nets and Crab pots

Posted: December 11, 2008 in Uncategorized

Puget Sound is being smothered with Derelict Gill Nets and Crab pots.  I was fishing the other day and found a string of cork on the surface.  Upon closer inspection I found it to be a gill net snagged to the bottom.  The net was in 80′ of water and covered a large area on the surface.  It appeared to contain sea birds and other marine life.  This is just one of thousands of nets floating around in the Sound.
