Winter storm sweeps Seattle

Posted: December 12, 2008 in Uncategorized

A cold winter storm is sweeping in to the Seattle area.  A very cold air mass is coming down from Canada and colliding with wet weather pulling in from the south.  This could bring some snow to the low lands and heavy accumulations in the Cascades and Olympics.  The temps over the weekend will see lows in the teens and barely creeping above freezing for the high.

I headed over to Shilshole bay marina, to fuel up and top off tanks in preparation for the cold snap.  The ride over was fine, rolling over 5′ waves.  On the way back I was fighting 6′ waves and eating a lot of green water.  Gary was out working for Blackmouth, gotta love Seattle fishing, always a calm spot within reach.  The wind is blowing 25+kts out of the south over the sound, rain squalls have visibility limited to 1 mile.
