Winter king Salmon (blackmouth) fishing has been hit or miss over the last few weeks.  The fish we are catching are good size on the average, yet a little far and few between.  I have been fishing mostly in the central Sound (ma 10).  Plugs and hootchie flasher combos have been the best producers.  Finding bait has not been an issue, mostly small Herring and Candle fish.  Concentrate your efforts in 110-130′ of water and fish your gear rite on the bottom.  The Seals have been very aggressive with the lack of fish around, so grind the fish in quick and you may end up with more than a head.
