New links for OP Steelhead and fishing in general

Posted: January 16, 2011 in Uncategorized

I have added some new links, primarily for Olympic Peninsula Steelhead fishing.  On the left side of the page you will find links to river levels, lodging in the Forks area, and a live camera feed of the Sol Duc river.  I have included a link to the Department of Fish and Wildlife  license sales page.

Best fishing levels are as follow for several OP streams

Sol Duc   3000 cfs and dropping usually will open up some fishing,  2000 cfs and down is ideal.

Bogachiel   29′ and dropping will open up some fishing,  28′ and below is ideal.

Hoh    2000 cfs and dropping is the best,  sometimes during cold weather the Hoh will clear at 3000cfs or so, this is a lot of water but fishable in places.

Calawah  2000cfs and dropping,  get on it quick as this is the most “flashy” stream of the Forks area rivers.

The Hoh, Calawah, and Bogey are the first to go out on  a rain event.   The Sol duc, because of the long drainage is slower usually 12hours behind the other rivers.

I hope this helps.
