Big steelhead, and drumming Grouse on the OP.

Little bits of Spring like weather have new growth emerging from the OP.  I listened to a Ruffed Grouse drumming in a thicket, calling out to all possible inquiries.  Funny little guy has occupied the same roost for over 3 years.  The little Drummer was way off base with his ruff language.  Sub zero temps entombed the OP last week, with a few days just getting above 29.   I imagine Spring Chinook are starting to sniff out their home rivers, a thought that warms my heart.

Steelhead fishing on the Sol Duc, Bogachiel, and Hoh rivers has been very productive over the past few weeks.  Lots of hatchery fish are still moving up the Sol Duc, as well as a good mix of Wild fish.  Side drifting bait, Plugs, and Floats & bait have been most productive.  With recent cold snaps, the fishing has been hit or miss.  Lots of people over the weekend and fish were outnumbered by fishermen.

A little video of Sol Duc river fishing.
