Spring on the Olympic Peninsula

It is supposed to be here, spring.  Skunk cabbage pushes up with little yellow thumbs, salmon berry blooms hang like little purple lanterns.  Come on sun and warm!  These are the signs.  Spring chinook have been nosing in to area rivers.  I have heard of a few sport caught fish, but nothing for me yet.   Steelhead fishing has been outstanding when water conditions allow.

Ling Cod season opens in the Seattle area May 1.  We will be targeting these tasty critters, in the northern part of Puget Sound.
